Balavikas kids participate in the annual Gandhi Jayanthi cooking every year at DC Kitchen (Federal City Shelter located at 425 Second St NW.) to celebrate Gandhi's birthday.

Children between 10 and 18 need to be accompanied by an adult. Covered shoes are required to enter the kitchen.
